Puppies Refuse To Accept That They Have Outgrown Their Nap Crate

Dee Marie could tell Emi and her seven puppies were a tight family the moment she welcomed them in. The puppies slept in one large pile from the first day, and Emi was constantly close to make sure her babies were secure.

Marie told The Dodo, “She’s been such a doting mother and is constantly only feet away ready to check on them.”

Northern Critters In Need, a non-profit organization, put Emi and her puppies in a foster home. Emi’s family lives in a remote location without frequent access to veterinary care, so when she got pregnant, they turned to the internet for assistance.

“There are a number of really rural places where we reside in northeastern Ontario — many are fly-in only,” Marie explained. “Even basic vet care and pet supplies might be difficult, if not impossible, to get.”

Marie agreed to foster Emi and her pups until they were old enough to be adopted, and she quickly discovered that each dog had its own personality.

“The puppies have a lot of personality,” Marie added. “Aang has always been in charge of the puppy pack. All the others would sit behind him waiting for instructions every morning since he is so loud and arrogant.”

When the puppies aren’t being bossed around by their brother, they’re snoozing in a large pile together. Marie anticipated the puppies to want their own room as they grew older, but things didn’t pan out as she had hoped.

“We prefer to get the pups acclimated to being in a crate when they’re small so they link it with being a relaxing area,” Marie explained. “And this litter got the memo right away and started sleeping in puppy mounds.”

Marie added another box as they grew older to give them more room to stretch around. The puppies, on the other hand, seemed unconcerned about the second crate and continued to cram themselves into the original.

“Despite the increased space, they’d continue to jam themselves into the one box,” Marie explained. “However, who can blame them?” “It’s the ultimate cuddle puddle!” says the narrator.

As they grew older, Marie constructed another box to give them more area to move around. The puppies, on the other hand, were uninterested by the second container and proceeded to cram into the first.

“They’d continue to cram themselves into the one box despite the extra room,” Marie explained. “However, who can blame them?” says the narrator. The narrator exclaims, “It’s the ultimate snuggle puddle!”

The pups have been gradually departing Marie’s house to go live with their permanent family since they were 9 weeks old.

Mama Emi will be spayed and returned to her original home once all of the puppies have been adopted. She won’t be alone, though. Aang will return to his mother, and the two will continue to be a cuddle puddle.

“I’m delighted she’ll be able to keep one of her puppies as a lifelong closest buddy,” Marie expressed her delight.
