I can’t conceive of a greater career for an animal lover than that of a wildlife photographer. You will always have the opportunity to have some one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime experiences with nature and its gorgeous wildlife. While the majority of the interactions portray the animals in a somber light, some of them are just amusing. And this adorable meeting between a young rhino and a cameraman is sure to make you grin!
When cameraman Garth De Bruno Austin was ready to take some pictures regarding rhino poaching in South Africa, he knew he would come face to face with those gorgeous creatures. He had no idea, though, that it would turn out to be such a nice experience. However, a newborn rhino approached him as he was filming the footage.
The cute little rhino approached inches away from Austin, perhaps more out of curiosity than anything else. But the man stood firm, realizing that the wild rhino was not going to harm him, but rather the reverse. The wild animal only needed a belly massage, which the videographer gladly provided. Thankfully, the sweet event was captured on film!
“If a rhino goes up to you and asks for a massage while you’re shooting… you better rub that rhino like your life depends on it!” Austin stated in the video description. “Thank goodness she didn’t take my URSA Mini 4K camera!”
Even if the moments are charming, the videographer advises against ever interacting with a wild animal since it might end poorly. “I didn’t approach this animal; she made the option to let me into her personal space and touch her,” Austin explained.
