The nicest dog ever, Nala adores going on trips and meeting new people. She does have a little vice, though.
Nala’s mother, Aurora Angel Beste, told The Dodo that her daughter “is quite the character.” “So friendly but so, so lazy.”
Exercise is not Nala’s favorite activity, especially when it is not done on her terms. Every day, she and her mother take the elevator to come home, and if they don’t, Nala insists on being carried. However, Nala’s veterinarian recently noticed that she was beginning to sag a bit. Beste made a choice that the obstinate husky is not happy with because she felt they could both need a bit more exercise.
Beste decided that from now on, every single day, they’ll be taking the stairs — and on their first day of this new endeavor, Nala staged a protest.
“Her first day doing stairs was kinda rough,” Beste wrote on Facebook.

… and when they got to the second story, Nala was already adamantly done.
Nala, who was being subjected to this “torture,” sought a corner on level four and put her snout into it, refusing to look at the perpetrator…
… and finally, at floor five, Nala collapsed dramatically, hoping that her antics would earn her a trip on the elevator next time — but unfortunately for Nala, her mom has decided they’re in this for the long haul.
Since their first effort, Nala has unwillingly improved a bit at using the stairs, although she still mostly objects to them.
It depends on how she feels right now, Beste added. She may be very obstinate at times, yet other times she will give in without a struggle. Even if she does get up, she takes her sweet time since she lacks a feeling of urgency.
Nala may eventually grow to appreciate the stairs, but her mother isn’t holding her breath.
