The Masai Mara Had A Rare Sighting Of Five Cheetah Brothers Swimming Over A Flooded River

While photographing Mother Nature in its finest form in Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve, the two were at the right position at the right moment to capture some magnificent photographs. When a group of cheetah chose to cross a flooded river, the two photographers were on the Talek River’s banks.

Wildlife is enthralling, and it usually provides breathtaking spectacles. Two wildlife photographers recently recorded such a rare occasion on film. Arnfin Johansen and Buddhilini De Soyza had watched an incredibly unusual encounter with a lot of patience and devotion.

Despite the danger, the five felines, all brothers, opted to swim across the river. Not only were they swimming against the tide, but the Talek river was also teeming with crocodiles. Even though cheetahs are the fastest land animals on the planet, swimming is a whole other story. The five brothers, according to the photographers, all made it to the other side.

The first Facebook post states, “A unique circumstance to observe made the great finale to the day.” “When the five cheetah brothers chose to cross the flooded Talek River despite the high current and crocodile risk. The three largest were the first to cross, followed by the two others a short time afterwards.”

“The Maasai Mara is one of the few surviving strongholds for the world cheetah population,” Femke Broekhuis, project director of the Mara Cheetah Project, said. In the wild, there are only about 7,000 individuals…
