Pablo Villamayor and his wife were riding their bicycles along a peaceful stretch of road in Paraguay earlier this month when they noticed something.
They saw a car pull over to the side of the road and throw a tiny bag into the brush ahead of them in the distance. The truck then took off at a high speed.
Villamayor and his wife had no idea what they were about to witness would impact their lives forever.
As the pair approached the location where the car had come to a halt, they noticed what was in the bag.
Villamayor told The Dodo, “We recognized it was a dog.” “He sprung out of the sack, sobbing, and dashed toward us.” “We came to a halt.”
Villamayor and his wife were at the right position at the right moment to save a life, as it turned out.
The dog, thankfully, looked to be in good health. Instead of calling for assistance, Villamayor chose to save the tiny puppy alone.
He tethered the puppy to his bike’s handlebars, and the two of them pedaled to safety together.
This, however, was only the beginning of an adventure that would last a lifetime.
“We made the decision to adopt him,” Villamayor explained. “We gave him the name Lorenzo.” He is presently with us at our house. He’s content.”
The stray dog had found his forever family.
Villamayor can’t fathom why somebody would abandon a dog on the side of the road. But, happily, he and his wife were present to see it — and identify it for what it was.
“Seeing people’s brutality made me sick,” Villamayor added. “However, we were fortunate to have found him.” Lorenzo was meant to be here with us.”
